MIDLAND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY TRAINING DAY
Midland, Texas — On Thursday, July 29, the Midland Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) hosted Midland Destination Training. A full day of hospitality training, attendees learned Midland’s unique selling points, visited Midland attractions, and learned the importance of top-notch service. Hospitality industry employees including hotel front desk staff, and attraction staff and volunteers attended the training.
“We are excited to be able to offer this training to Midland’s hospitality industry,” said Brenda Kissko, tourism and public relations manager of the CVB. “Our goal is to continue to create a visitor-friendly, knowledgeable, and unified front-line of hospitality for our visitors.”
The motorcoach tour educated attendees on key attractions, restaurants, hotels, meeting and sports facilities, events, and activities that make Midland a popular destination. Attendees also learned how the Midland CVB promotes Midland to convention business, sports, and leisure clients and how they can help local partners.
“This was a great day, and I learned some very interesting things about Midland,” said Laura Abbott, box office manager for the Midland Community Theatre and Midland Destination Training graduate.
Midland Destination Training concluded with a graduation ceremony where graduates received a framed “Midland Destination Certified” certificate and a Midland Front Desk Manual for each company, designed to help them efficiently help visitors with their questions and driving directions.
